Taking Backup of the User’s Data means storing data at a separate place, which is
required by the User when the application runs. This sometimes becomes essential
when there is a need to reinstall the software or update a new version of the software.
During Installation we lose data stored previously. By keeping backup of all the
previous data, we can recover it back either fully or selectively depending upon
our requirement.
Backup/Restore System
In Leo Gold we have Backup/Restore System, which is meant for taking Backup of the
User’s Data maintained in various Master Database of Leo Gold. Data maintained in
these Master Databases needed to be Backed-up when we want to make sure that reinstalling
of the software or due to some other circumstances this data would not erase out.
We can recover this data back using the Restore facility .
The option for Backup & Restore is available under SetUp menu of the Leo Gold's
main input screen as shown below:

Backup/Restore System Screen
In Leo Gold, we can take Full Backup / Restore or can clean a particular data table.
Following is the list of all the Master Tables which are normally required for taking
backup:-
(i) Astrologer Master, (ii) Model Master,
(iii) Print Options, (iv) Ayanmsa Master,
(v) Category Tables, (vi) Prediction Tables,
(vii) Default Values, (viii) Place Master.
In the figure 9.1.1, we can see that there are number of buttons meant for Backup
& Recovery of User Data. These buttons have been kept under the following headings
:-
Full Backup/Restore/Clean.
Full Backup:
Under this option we can take Backup of all the Master Tables of Leo Gold.
As we press Full Backup button, a message appears asking for confirmation whether
we really want to take backup of User Data. If the response comes in "Yes" then
another message appears asking for overwriting all records. If we response in "Yes"
then it keep on overwriting existing data without asking otherwise if we click on
"No" it will ask for Overwrite for each record found different from the existing
one in the Master Table.
If there is no data it would not ask anything it will simply be added to the Backup.
On pressing "Cancel" button we can come out of it.
Restore:
The Data whose Backup we took earlier needed to be Restored when the original data
is lost somehow knowingly/unknowingly or at the time of upgrade/ reinstallation
of the software and we want to recover it back fully. The user can restore it by
pressing 'Restore' button. If there is some data already existing, on pressing "Yes"
it will be overwritten, on pressing "No", it will ask to overwrite each and every
record found different from the existing one. On clicking "Cancel" we can come out
of it without doing anything.
Clean Backup:
By pressing the 'Clean Backup' button we can remove all the data that exists in
the User's Backup Directory. A message asking for confirmation appears after pressing
the button. If you press "Yes" it will delete all the records from the database.
Selected Backup/Restore/Clean.

Under Selected Backup Option, we can select specific data related to particular
Astrologer, Model, Print -Options, etc. and take Back Up of our choice. After pressing
Selected Backup button a new screen comes up which looks like the figure as shown

and Ayanmsa Code from where we can select the required code by clicking on it.There
is also an option of language given on the top of the screen from where you can
select a particular language whose records you want to back up. On pressing buttons
such as "Add", "Delete" and "Add/Delete" does the following action respectively:-

Add/Delete Button:
This button adds selected data to User’s Backup table as well as deletes them from
the Master table overwriting the existing data if any and adding otherwise.
We can also choose specific language from the list of languages so that only specific
item from list belonging to particular language gets added/deleted from the list.
The list of language for selection is valid in case of Astrologer & Model Master
only.
To return to the main screen of Backup/Recovery system press button captioned "Return".

for selected Restore the following screen appears:-
This screen is very much similar to the Selected Backup screen, the difference being
that the data displayed in the list now comes from the User’s Backup table. There
are following Buttons for each item captioned under :–-

This is same as the 'Add' Button of the Selected Backup. Here, we can choose the
items in the same way from the list which we want to add to our User Data collection.

Selective Restore Screen
already exists otherwise it will be added.
Delete Button:
This Button removes the selected specific user’s choice of the item from the Backup

for the Astrologer and Model Backup, so that the item for the specified language
is Restored/Deleted.
To return to the main screen of Backup/Recovery system press button captioned "Return".
Viewing Backup Status
In Backup/Restore System we have the facility for looking up the status of the Backup
so that we are fully aware of the status of the data maintained in the Backup. As
we press the button captioned "View Backup Status" a screen as shown in figure appears:-

As we can see that there are separate buttons mentioned for each of the items. We
can view the data in the Master as well as Backup table by clicking on the respective
item and a list appears displaying data from Master & Backup tables. There is
also an option for choose the language in case of Astrologers and Model Master and
Paper type for Print Options so that we are fully aware of the data that already
exists in the Master and Backup table before taking Backup or ReStoring the data.
We can also see here the number of records in the Master & Backup tables and
also the number of records matching between the two.
Similarly, we can view the Table status of the User Category and Prediction Tables
that exists in the Master as well as BackUp. The Prediction tables for different
languages can also be selected from the list of languages.
BackUp/Restore of Separate Tables

We can select any of the Option from various buttons meant for them which-ever we
want to include in our BackUp. Here, as we press the respective button a message
comes asking from us whether we want to "Overwrite All records". If we choose "Yes",
it will overwrite all the existing records and add new ones without asking for the
same but if we choose "No", it will keep on asking for overwrite for each existing
record whose data found to be different. In case of
category table not existing, pressing of "Yes" will simply include such table in
the BackUp, on pressing "No" will ask for inclusion of each category tables separately.
ReStoring Separate BackUp Item.
As we have a number of buttons for taking BackUp of separate User tables. In the
same way we can use different buttons for ReStoring the user data from the BackUp.
These buttons functions in exactly the same way as the BackUp button. First a message
appears after pressing the respective button asking for "Overwriting All records".
If we press "Yes" then it overwrites all existing items without confirmation. If
we press "No" then it will confirm from the us whether we want to overwrite existing
records. On pressing "Cancel" we can come out of it.
Clearing Items Separately
There are a number of buttons for clearing different backup tables separately. These
buttons simply removes all existing data from the BackUp table of user’s choice
